Customs and traditions are alive and well in Wals-Siezenheim. Whether you take in the Aperschnalzern (whip-cracking competition) in the winter or the harvest festival in the fall, you’ll experience tradition up close and personal.
Our beautiful natural surroundings offer a multitude of excursions and sporting activities year-round for both young and old.
If you’d like, take a hike along the Goiser moor or the meadows along the Saalach river. If you prefer, ride your bike along the Tauern bike path or go for a bike ride around the Untersberg mountain, all from bike trails which run directly through our village. A visit to the legendary Wals pear-tree is a must, and if you are hiking or biking along the Salzburg Jakobsweg trail, stop by the parish church in Gois which is purported to have mystical powers.
